Success Starts With Soil

Physalis pruinosa is a low grower with a spreading habit. Groundcherries are similar to a tomatillo with it's thin, paper-like husk. The yellow fruits have a sweet-citrusy flavor much like a pineapple. Fruits can be eaten raw, dried, frozen, or cooked/baked. Prized for use in jams, pies, and salads.

Growing Tips for Physalis pruinosa

Grow on a trellis in a container for easy picking. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Ground cherries do not require a lot of pruning since they do not get very tall.
