White, tubular flowers sit tall on firm, rigid stems. Attracts hummingbirds and other pollinators. Blooms from April through June. Commonly seen in fields or woodlines but makes a great addition to sunny borders or wild gardens. Makes a great cutting flower.

Growing Tips for Penstemon digitalis

Thrives in moist, well-drained soils and full sun. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Prune spent flowers to encourage rebloom. Cut back to just above ground level after a hard freeze in late fall.
