Add To CartThis Korean azalea forms a broad, spreading shrub reaching 3–6' tall and 8–12' wide. In warmer zones, it stays evergreen; in colder climates, it drops its leaves and offers striking orange-red fall color. In early spring, clusters of 2–4 slightly fragrant, lavender to rose-purple blooms (each about 2" wide with a darker blotch) brighten the garden. A key parent in the development of many modern evergreen azaleas.
Growing Tips for Azalea poukhanense
Prefers part to full shade—avoid direct afternoon sun. Plant in rich, well-drained soil that stays consistently moist but not soggy. Mulch helps retain moisture and protect shallow roots. Avoid pruning heavily; minimal shaping is best, and any trimming should be done right after flowering.
