The fragrant, soft pink, mid-season blooming peony will stand out in any garden. The showy pink blooms stand out beautifully against dark green foliage. This is an erect, clump-forming, shrub-like perennial that typically grows to 20-30” tall on stems tinged with red. It is classified as a late-blooming species, featuring flowers in mid- to late spring and continuing attractive foliage throughout the summer and early fall. Peonies have been grown in China since the 7th century for appreciation of its ornamental flowers.

Growing Tips for Paeonia lactiflora ''Petite Renee''

Enjoys full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soils. Grows best in full sun, but tolerant of light afternoon shade. Staking may be required as the flowers bloom and heavy rains may drive them to the ground. Peonies do not respond well to transplanting. Best timing to plant in the ground is early fall to give the plants time to establish. After planting, may take up to two years to produce blooms. Peonies are considered to be relatively pest free.
