This grass forms a dense, fountain-like clump with arching stems and linear leaves up to 3-5’ long. The foliage turns yellow to orange in mid-fall, fading to beige-tan for winter. From late August to October, pink to red feathery panicles bloom, turning beige as seeds mature. Both the foliage and flowers maintain their shape and color through winter, offering ornamental interest, especially when dusted with snow.

Growing Tips for Miscanthus sinensis ''High Frequency''

This grass thrives in full sun to part shade, preferring medium moisture, well-drained soil. It tolerates a range of soils, from sandy to heavy clay, and is heat and humidity tolerant. To maintain a tidy appearance, leave foliage standing through winter, then cut back in late winter. Mulching helps control reseeding, which can become invasive in milder climates.
