Growing Tips for Ilex glabra ''Compacta''

'Compacta' is a female cultivar and needs a male pollinator in order to produce berries. Plants generally do not need pruning as they are usually grown as an informal hedge. If pruning is desired, prune to shape in early spring before new growth begins. Root suckers can be removed if colonial spreading is not desired. Grows well in average to moist soils in full to part sun.
