Success Starts With Soil

Commemoration® Maple is a vigorous, large sugar maple cultivar reaching about 50 ft tall by 35 ft wide, with a broadly oval to rounded crown. It bears thick, heavy, glossy dark-green leaves that resist damage (leaf tatter) and maintain a healthy appearance through summer. In fall the foliage turns a brilliant mix of orange to orange-red, often earlier in the season than other sugar maples.

Growing Tips for Acer saccharum 'Commemoration®'

Best planted in full sun to light or partial shade in rich, well-drained soil. Though cold hardy, it appreciates consistent moisture especially in hotter or drier climates until established. Minimal pruning is needed, just remove dead or crossing branches in winter or early spring. Mulch around the base to retain moisture, reduce weeds, and protect roots. Avoid salty soils or heavy compaction.
