Houseplants for the Holidays
Posted November 13, 2015
There’s nothing more beautiful then when the leaves on the trees turn beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow in the fall. Bring some of those colors into your home with Crotons, Calatheas, Kalanchoe and Cyclamen and spruce up your Thanksgiving table with these decorative foliage and flowering plants from our greenhouse. Don’t be afraid to mix them together in a larger pot for a bigger statement. You’ll be amazed how stunning it looks in your home and I bet your Thanksgiving feast won’t be the only thing your family and friends will be raving about.
Bringing houseplants into the home is also a great way to continue to garden all year. Let’s be honest, we miss getting our hands dirty when winter comes around. Well, I’ve got the solution to keep those hands in the dirt. Start some Paperwhite bulbs in the house for the holidays. It’s a perfect way to play in the dirt and a great plant to watch grow from start to finish. Oh and I know we have been talking about Thanksgiving, but you should probably start your Amaryllis bulbs as well, especially if you want it to bloom for Christmas (takes 6-8 weeks). I’ll see you in the greenhouse.
That’s the dirt for now …
